Lanyards & Connectors from Malta Dynamics
Malta Dynamics lanyards and connectors link your crew to anchor points with the strength and reliability needed for fall protection at dangerous heights. From shock-absorbing lanyards that limit fall arrest forces to heavy-duty carabiners rated to 5,000 lbs., every connector meets ANSI and OSHA requirements for personal fall arrest systems.
Types of Lanyards & Connectors
Limit Fall Arrest Forces to Protect Workers
Shock-Absorbing Lanyards
Shock-Absorbing Lanyards
Shock-absorbing lanyards connect a full body harness to an anchor point while reducing the forces transmitted during fall arrest. Internal shock absorbers limit arresting forces, protecting workers from serious injuries. Available in single-leg and double-leg configurations, with stretch designs that minimize tripping hazards in the work area. Connector options include steel snap hooks and rebar hooks.

Heavy Duty Connectors for Fall Arrest Systems
Carabiners
Carabiners
Steel locking carabiners provide secure connection points between lanyards, lifelines, and anchor points. One-hand operation allows quick attachment while maintaining 100% tie-off. All carabiners meet ANSI Z359.12-2009 requirements with 5,000 lb. tensile strength and 3,600 lb. gate ratings. Tower hook carabiners feature wide gate openings for larger structural members.

Continuous Fall Protection for Roof Applications
Vertical Lifeline Assemblies
Vertical Lifeline Assemblies
Vertical lifeline assemblies provide fall protection while workers climb ladders and vertical structures. The rope grab slides freely during ascent and descent but locks instantly if a fall occurs. High-strength polyester rope with 5,000 lb. minimum breaking strength connects to harness D-rings via integrated shock pack and positioning device.

Built With Your Team In Mind
ANSI Z359.13 Compliant
All shock-absorbing lanyards meet ANSI Z359.13 requirements for shock absorbers, limiting average arresting force to 900 lbs. or less during fall arrest.
5,000 lb. Connector Strength
Carabiners and snap hooks are rated to 5,000 lbs. tensile strength with 3,600 lb. gate ratings, meeting ANSI Z359.12 requirements for connectors.
130-310 lb. Worker Capacity
All lanyards and connectors support workers from 130-310 lbs. including tools and clothing, covering the full range of construction crews.
One-Hand Operation
Self-locking carabiners and snap hooks open with one hand for quick attachment, keeping the other hand free for climbing or holding position.
Stretch Lanyard Design
Stretch lanyards reduce from 6' to 4.5' when at rest, minimizing tripping hazards and keeping lanyard slack out of the work area.
High Visibility Orange
Bright orange polyester webbing makes lanyards visible across the job site, helping safety professionals monitor crew connections at a glance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Not seeing what you're looking for?
What is the difference between single-leg and double-leg lanyards?
What is the difference between single-leg and double-leg lanyards?
Single-leg lanyards connect a worker to one anchor point at a time. Double leg lanyards have two legs so workers can maintain 100% tie-off when moving between anchor points, one leg stays connected while the other moves to the next anchor. Double leg lanyards are required when continuous fall protection is needed during transitions.
When should I use a vertical lifeline assembly?
When should I use a vertical lifeline assembly?
Vertical lifeline assemblies are used when workers climb ladders, scaffolds, or other vertical structures where a fixed-length lanyard would restrict movement. The rope grab allows continuous vertical travel while providing instant fall arrest if a fall occurs. Use vertical lifelines when fall hazards exist during climbing.
How does a shock-absorbing lanyard work?
How does a shock-absorbing lanyard work?
Shock-absorbing lanyards contain an internal shock absorber that deploys during fall arrest to limit forces on the worker's body. Malta Dynamics lanyards limit average arresting force to 900 lbs. or less, well below the OSHA maximum of 1,800 lbs. for a personal fall arrest system. The shock pack tears in a controlled manner to absorb energy.
What carabiner gate strength do I need?
What carabiner gate strength do I need?
OSHA and ANSI require connectors to have a minimum gate strength of 3,600 lbs. in all directions. Malta Dynamics carabiners meet this requirement with gates rated to 3,600 lbs. and overall tensile strength of 5,000 lbs. This ensures the connector remains secure even if loaded at an angle.
Can lanyards be used for restraint applications?
Can lanyards be used for restraint applications?
Adjustable restraint lanyards are designed specifically for fall restraint where the lanyard prevents the worker from reaching a fall hazard rather than arresting a fall. Standard shock-absorbing lanyards are designed for fall arrest. Check product specifications to confirm the lanyard is rated for your intended application.

Built for the Job. Made for You.
Malta Dynamics lanyards and connectors complete your personal fall arrest system with equipment that meets the highest standards for fall protection. From shock-absorbing lanyards that protect workers during fall arrest to heavy duty carabiners rated for demanding construction applications, every product is ANSI compliant and OSHA ready.
