Yes, leading edge SRLs are specifically designed for foot-level and below anchor points. Class 2 rating means they're tested to withstand cable contact with sharp edges during falls. This makes them great for roofing, steel erection, and leading edge work where overhead anchors aren't available. Standard Class 1 overhead SRLs should not be used at foot level.

SRLs automatically extend and retract to keep lifelines taut as workers move, eliminating slack and reducing free fall distance to under 2 feet. Standard lanyards have fixed lengths and allow 6 feet of free fall before the shock absorber deploys. SRLs provide more mobility, less fall distance, and faster arrest than traditional lanyards, making them ideal for elevated work.

Class 1 SRLs are designed for overhead anchor points where the cable hangs vertically without contacting edges. Class 2 SRLs are rated for leading edge applications where cables may contact sharp edges during falls.
