Steel Anchors from Malta Dynamics
Malta Dynamics steel anchors provide secure tie-off points on I-beams, H-beams, and structural steel for fall arrest and fall restraint applications. Our beam clamps, trolleys, and cross arm straps are built from alloy steel and aluminum alloy with 5,000 lb. tensile strength to meet OSHA and ANSI safety standards for anchorage.
Types of Steel Anchors
I-Beam Mobility
Beam Trolley Anchors
Beam Trolley Anchors
Beam trolleys roll along I-beams so workers can move freely while staying tied off. Safety stops prevent accidental detachment from the beam end. Shop options like the Malta I-Beam Trolley with built-in shock absorption for smooth movement across structural steel.

Fixed Beam Anchors
Fixed Beam Anchors
Fixed beam anchors clamp directly to structural steel without welding or permanent modifications. These anchors provide a steady tie-off point where mobility isn't required. The Malta Fixed D-Ring Beam Anchor installs in seconds and holds strong on I-beams and columns.

Versatile Steel Beam Anchors
Cross Arm Straps
Cross Arm Straps
Cross arm straps wrap around I-beams and H-beams to create temporary anchor points without tools or permanent attachment. Malta Dynamics straps feature dual reinforced webbing with heavy-duty stitching and alloy steel D-Rings. Available in 4' and 6' lengths, these lightweight anchors install in seconds and leave no damage to the steel structure.

Built With Your Team In Mind
5,000 lb. Tensile Strength
All Malta Dynamics steel anchors meet OSHA requirements for minimum 5,000 lb. anchor point strength per attached worker in fall arrest applications.
ANSI/OSHA Compliant
Steel anchors meet ANSI Z359.18-2017, ANSI A10.32-12, and comply with OSHA 1926.502 and OSHA 1910.66 for construction and general industry applications.
Corrosion Resistance
Stainless steel hardware and zinc-plated finishes provide corrosion resistance for durability in outdoor applications and harsh work environments.
Tool-Free Installation
Adjustable paws, locking toggles, and pass-through D-Rings allow quick installation without special tools. Spend less time setting up and more time working.
Reusable Design
Removable and reusable anchors reduce equipment costs across multiple projects. Inspect anchors before each use for wear, damage, or corrosion.
Lightweight Construction
Aircraft-grade aluminum components reduce weight without sacrificing strength. The beam trolley weighs 9.27 lbs. and fixed beam anchor weighs just 5.1 lbs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Not seeing what you're looking for?
What steel anchor do I need for my application?
What steel anchor do I need for my application?
Choose beam trolleys when workers need to move along the beam while staying connected. Choose fixed beam anchors when workers stay in one area and don't need mobility. Cross arm straps work for both temporary jobs and situations where beam clamps won't fit. All Malta Dynamics steel anchors support one user (130-310 lbs.) in fall arrest or fall restraint applications. Per OSHA 1926.502(d)(15), the structural steel beam must be capable of supporting at least 5,000 lbs. per attached employee.
Decisions on anchorage should be made by the company Competent Person, sometimes under direction of Qualified Person.
How do I know if a steel beam can support fall protection?
How do I know if a steel beam can support fall protection?
OSHA 1926.502(d)(15) requires anchor points to be capable of supporting at least 5,000 lbs. per employee attached, or be designed, installed, and used as part of a complete personal fall arrest system maintaining a safety factor of at least two under supervision of a qualified person. Before installing any steel anchor, a competent person must verify the structural steel beam is capable of withstanding the required load. Inspect the beam for damage, corrosion, or structural compromise. Malta Dynamics anchors meet safety standards when installed on properly rated structures per manufacturer instructions.
Can I use beam anchors overhead and at foot level?
Can I use beam anchors overhead and at foot level?
Yes. Malta Dynamics beam trolleys and fixed beam anchors can be used overhead or below D-Ring level when appropriately planned by a competent person. Foot-level or below D-Ring anchorage requires additional considerations including increased fall distance and higher forces on the anchor point. When tying off below D-Ring, consider using a Class 2 SRL, also known as leading edge SRL designed for that application. Always consult your site safety plan and competent person before using anchors at foot level.
How often should I inspect steel anchors?
How often should I inspect steel anchors?
Conduct regular inspection before each use by checking for wear, damage, or corrosion on all anchor components. Look for cracks, deformation, or excessive wear on hooks, paws, D-Rings, and adjustment mechanisms. Verify locking mechanisms function properly and all hardware is secure. Remove any damaged anchors from service immediately. Anchors must also be removed from service after exposure to fall arrest forces. A competent person should perform documented inspections per your site's managed fall protection program. Malta Dynamics offers training and inspection services to help ensure compliance.
What's the difference between a beam walker and beam trolley?
What's the difference between a beam walker and beam trolley?
Both allow movement along structural steel, but they operate differently. Beam walkers slide along the top flange of I-beams or H-beams as workers move, fitting flange widths from 3.5" to 14" (or 12" to 30" for the large version). Beam trolleys use free-rolling aluminum wheels that trail behind workers for smoother movement and fit 3" to 10" flange widths. Both provide 5,000 lb. tensile strength and meet ANSI Z359.18-2017 and OSHA 1926.502 standards. Choose based on your flange width and preference for sliding versus rolling movement along the steel.
