    PARAPET ANCHOR

SKU: A6316. Does your jobsite feature a flat roof surrounded by a parapet wall? If it does, then you need a way to anchor your self-retracting lifelines (SRLs). At Malta Dynamics, our parapet clamp system allows you to put your SRL in place with a sturdy connection that helps support weight and keep your workers safe. The reusable device is easy to install and won't cause damage to the wall. Your workers can use our parapet anchor on walls varying in thickness from 2.36" to 14.1". On a jobsite, time is critical, but you never want to compromise your workers' safety. Equipment that offers intuitive usage is the best type to have on your site, as it cuts back on time without putting your employees in danger. It takes just a minute or two to secure the parapet clamp, and your workers can adjust it to reposition around the worksite. You can feel confident in the sturdiness of our design. Our temporary parapet edge protection provides a practical solution in areas where you otherwise couldn't use an SRL. Put Safety First When You Use Our Parapet Grabber The anchor comes with specific directions for installation and application. Ensure your workers read and understand the instructions, as their safety depends on using the parapet clamp correctly. For example, you need a minimum wall height of 9' to use our parapet anchor. Instructions for Installation of Parapet Clamp Fall Protection The Parapet Anchor is intended to be installed on a parapet wall up to 14.1 inches (360mm) thick. Unscrew the set screws so the points do not protrude into the anchor slot. Remove the detent pin and move the adjustable arm back far enough to allow the clamp to fit over the parapet wall. Make sure the top surface within the anchor slot is fully seated on the parapet wall. Slide the adjustable arm toward the parapet wall and reinsert the locking pin through the position setting holes. Tighten each set screw until it makes contact with the parapet wall. Hand tighten the screws until snug. Excessive torque can damage the parapet wall or the parapet wall anchor. CONCRETE ANCHORS

How Do Concrete Anchors Work?

Concrete anchors are designed to support the weight of a worker in the event of a fall. They attach securely to concrete surfaces, preventing the worker from hitting the ground. Our concrete anchors are available in various types, including stainless steel anchors and carbon steel options, all engineered for heavy-duty use.

Concrete anchors can be installed either by embedding them while the concrete is being poured or by drilling into hardened concrete. This allows flexibility depending on your project’s stage. Using a hammer drill, you can create the right hole size and depth for installation. Some types, like epoxy anchors and wedge anchors, expand upon insertion, ensuring a secure fit.

Why You Need Concrete Anchors From Malta Dynamics

Concrete anchors are essential components of personal fall arrest systems (PFAS), specifically designed for securing workers while working at heights. At Malta Dynamics, our high-quality concrete anchors are built to provide reliable support on various surfaces like concrete slabs, brick walls, and more. Whether you’re working on heavy-duty applications or light-duty tasks, we offer a range of anchors to suit your job’s demands, ensuring proper installation and compliance with OSHA regulations. With our products, you can ensure worker safety and mitigate the risk of fall hazards.

Concrete anchors from Malta Dynamics, including wedge anchors, sleeve anchors, and drop-in anchors, can be used in solid concrete, pre-drilled holes, or even concrete slabs. These heavy-duty fasteners are ideal for high-performance applications, providing the highest level of security on the job site.

Types of Concrete Anchors

Wedge Anchors

Concrete wedge anchors are known for their heavy-duty capabilities and are ideal for securing threads into solid concrete. These anchors expand after installation, providing strong, reliable support.

Sleeve Anchors

Ideal for both brick walls and concrete, sleeve anchors offer versatility across different base materials. They’re great for fastening heavy-duty applications and can support significant weight, especially in high-performance environments.

Drop-In Anchors

These anchors are inserted into a pre-drilled hole using a hammer drill. Upon insertion, they expand and lock into place, offering robust support for threaded rods or leadwood screw anchors.

Removable Concrete Anchors

Our removable anchors, such as wedge anchors, are easy to install and remove, providing flexibility for jobs that require temporary installations in concrete slabs or other base materials.

Choosing the Right Concrete Anchor

Choosing the Right Anchor

When selecting the right concrete anchor, consider factors like the diameter, length, and intended application. For heavy-duty applications, anchors like wedge anchors and sleeve anchors made from stainless steel or carbon steel are perfect for providing extra security. For lighter applications, you may opt for light-duty anchors that are easier to install with a basic hand tool or screw.

Installation Tips for Concrete Anchors

To ensure your concrete anchors are installed correctly, always use the proper carbide drill bit and hammer drill to achieve the appropriate hole size and depth. For wedge anchors and epoxy anchors, follow the specific instructions regarding cure time and expansion to avoid any failure in performance. For threaded rods and nuts, ensure that the threads are aligned correctly to prevent wear and tear.

Meeting ANSI and OSHA Standards

All Malta Dynamics concrete anchors meet or exceed ANSI and OSHA standards, ensuring that your job site remains safe and compliant. By using our anchors, you are not only protecting your workers but also safeguarding your organization against potential regulatory violations.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a concrete wedge anchor, and when should it be used?

+

A concrete wedge anchor is a heavy-duty fastener designed to secure materials to solid concrete. It is commonly used in heavy-duty applications like anchoring steel columns, beams, and support brackets. Proper installation requires drilling a pre-drilled hole into the concrete using a carbide drill bit and tightening the nut to secure the anchor. These are ideal for high-performance needs in construction projects where strength and reliability are critical.

How do you install sleeve anchors in concrete?

+

To install sleeve anchors in concrete, start by drilling the appropriate hole size with a hammer drill. Insert the sleeve anchor into the hole, ensuring the bolt head is flush with the surface. Tighten the nut, which causes the sleeve to expand, securing the anchor in place. Sleeve anchors are commonly used in light-duty applications, like securing door frames or window installations to concrete walls.

What is the difference between a drop-in anchor and a wedge anchor?

+

A drop-in anchor is internally threaded and used for securing bolts or threaded rods to solid concrete, making it ideal for overhead applications. In contrast, a wedge anchor expands as the bolt is tightened, providing a strong and heavy-duty hold. Drop-in anchors require a pre-drilled hole and are often used in high-performance projects, while wedge anchors are preferred for fast installation in structural work.

How do you choose the right fastener for masonry and concrete?

+

Choosing the right fastener depends on the base material and application. For brick walls or concrete slabs, consider using epoxy anchors or masonry anchors like leadwood screw anchors. For heavy-duty applications, concrete wedge anchors or stainless steel anchors are often recommended. Ensure the fastener matches the load capacity and project requirements to ensure safety and stability.

What tools are needed for proper installation of concrete anchors?

+

For the proper installation of concrete anchors, you’ll need a hammer drill with a carbide drill bit to create the correct hole size. Depending on the anchor type, you may also need a hand tool or wrench to tighten screws or nuts. Using high-quality tools is essential to ensure the anchor’s stability in heavy-duty construction applications, especially for securing elements to solid concrete or brick walls.
