Collection: Concrete Anchors

An anchor is the connection point that secures the entire fall protection system to a structure. The anchor attaches to structural elements like beams, concrete, or roof decking. A self-retracting lifeline or lanyard connects to the anchor on one end, typically with a carabiner or snap hook, and to the worker's harness on the other end. This creates a complete personal fall arrest system: anchor point, connecting device (SRL or lanyard), and a full body harness.

Fixed post anchors and anchor plates work best on flat commercial roofs. Post anchors provide standing-height connection points that provide ease of use, and anchor plates offer multiple tie-off points from one installation.

Older concrete may have lower compressive strength or surface deterioration that affects the anchor performance. Have a qualified person test concrete strength before selecting anchors. 

It depends on the anchor's rated capacity and your fall protection system design. Most single-point anchors support one worker, but anchor plates with multiple D-rings can support multiple tie-offs if rated appropriately. Consult a qualified person to design systems for multiple workers on one anchor point.

Wedge anchors expand inside drilled holes to create permanent, high-strength connections. They're ideal for fixed installations because they cannot be removed and reused. Other options like parapet anchors clamp without drilling, and swivel anchors add rotation for mobility.
