- Remember: Use a Class 1 SRL in situations where you can secure the back (Dorsal) D-Ring to an overhead anchorage point, and; the work environment doesn't involve Leading-Edge Risks (where the lifeline may come into contact with sharp or abrasive edges during a fall), and; wen it's required to keep the free fall distance to a minimum 2 feet.
- SRL-LE, now called Class 2 SRL's are used when Overhead Anchorage is not available, and is above the Dorsal D-Ring, and/or if Leading-Edge Risks are present, and; When work conditions present a risk of free falls greater than 2 feet. Note: whenever possible, securing an overhead anchorage point is preferable to minimize free fall distances and associated risks.
- SRL-P is a Personal Self-Retracting Lifeline which is compact and designed to be worn directly on a worker's full-body harness.
